The MuTeMat 3 with a high-mass vinyl layer (Tecsound) is the best soundproof base for carpets and reduces both airborne and impact noise. The FloorMuffler UltraSeal is the uncompromising soundproof base. Although it is thinner (2 mm) than its competitors, it has better sound absorption properties. For example, the entire rating exceeds that of its competitor.
The Delta IIC of 25 is magnificent. It also includes a vapor barrier. There are no real drawbacks with this material. The last soundproof underfloor in our review is the option economic.
This material has almost all the qualities of its competitor. It has an IIC of 64 (no IIC delta viewpoint is indicated even after asking the manufacturer) and is easy to cut and install. For wooden floors, the best acoustic subfloor systems are the MuTeMat 2 Plus and the MuTeMat 3 Plus. These have the additional advantage of the Tecsound layer, which is a vibration-damping layer.
This means that it will absorb sound vibrations from any surface you apply it to. The reason it can do this is because of the viscoelastic membrane and its extremely high vibration damping performance. The best base for vinyl floors is an acoustic felt, such as the one specifically designed by our product team. This type of material is perfect for vinyl, as it is thinner and less dense, so it recovers much of the “bounce” you would experience with other materials when use vinyl.
Rubber and foam are the best options for the base of carpet floors, as they will soften the floor and absorb the sound produced by the structure. Second, choose one of the following acoustic layers or soundproofing mats for wooden floors, depending on the level and type of noise. Because floor tiles can be small and fragile, they should not be placed on soft, padded bases (such as acoustic base layers), as this increases the chance of them cracking and breaking. All of the above-mentioned acoustic layers and sound mats can be easily placed on carpets directly on top of them. You could be forgiven for not realizing that there are a lot of sound-insulated floor covering products available. The best acoustic base on its own is the MuTeMat 3, which helps reduce airborne noise and impacts. In the underlying layer market, you'll find that many companies claim that their lower layer products completely block airborne sounds.
The acoustically insulated floor layer options available from specialized manufacturers represent an important advance over standard products. This combination of acoustic base layers allows you to achieve much better results with thinner soundproofing products. By having several layers of different thicknesses and densities, it can smooth out this drop in performance and achieve the best soundproofing with its acoustic base. Nor are the soundproofing properties of the lower layers for carpets tested in the same way that soundproofing mats and bases do.
In the case of carpets, you need a product that is soft but does not touch the ground, like many of the acoustic base layers on the market. Seal seal against the wall: place the acoustic base at wall height, place a washer on top of the mat and use the inside of the washer to draw a line across the carpet by dragging it across the wall to obtain an exact replica of the shape and curve of the wall. The science behind acoustic layers can be complicated, but the main factors that contribute to reducing sound come down to three components.
